Social Media Week presents "Navigating Social Media & New Technology in Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Industries", a panel discussion designed to explore:
- the laws and regulations affecting new technology and social media planning and implementation in healthcare & pharma industries;
- tips for navigating these laws and successfully implementing your strategy;
- and examples of innovative healthcare and pharma companies and what they are up to in the digital world.

Augustine Fou
Group Chief Digital Officer at Healthcare Consultancy Group
Dr. Augustine Fou is group chief digital officer of Omnicom's healthcare consultancy group, specializing in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. Fou helps clients develop digital marketing programs or improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness existing campaigns via advanced analytics, social marketing, and digital strategy. He has over 12 years of Internet strategy consulting experience and client service. Fou completed his PhD at MIT at the age of 23 and served with the New York office of McKinsey & Company. Jay Parkinson MD, MPH

Jay Parkinson, MD, MPH is a doctor in Williamsburg, Brooklyn who uses his experience in both clinical and preventive medicine to design consumer experiences and business opportunities that create health. He was trained at Johns Hopkins in preventive medicine and pediatrics. He realized just what a mess the health care system is, with messy delivery processes and frustrating experiences. He figured it could be simpler. So Jay co-founded Hello Health, a novel way of experiencing healthcare via a Facebook-like platform that uses office visits, email, instant messaging, and video chat to restore the traditional doctor-patient relationship. Combining his years of experience as a practicing physician and his years at McKinsey & Company as a specialist in digital health records, Oliver has the unique background to simplify the healthcare industry from the inside out. He comes from a 300-year-old ancestral line of doctors, received his MD and PhD from Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, and will be a father of twins any day now.
